National Park Els Ports
Tinença de Benifassà Natural Park is the part the most North of the province of Castellón. On the other side of the border with Catalunya the park passes in Els Ports National Park. Leaving Mas del Rey, it is only 45 kilometers to get there. It is a large, quite spectacular mountainous area.
There are waterfalls, reservoirs, steep ravines and a very varied wildlife. You can find over a thousand species of plants, besides vultures, eagles, foxes, wild boars and - most iconic - the Spanish springbok. Please feel free to ask for maps of the area and suggestions of routes.
